TEP is an independent and award-winning consultancy providing high-quality advice in planning, design and environmental services, with a strong focus on personal service. Blending environmental science with creative vision, we bring clarity and care to every project; helping shape places that honour biodiversity, support wellbeing, and stand resilient in a changing world. TEP possess bespoke knowledge and expertise in the green roof and Sustainable Urban Drainage (SuDs) sectors, from academic research, substrate development and testing, plant choice and selection, landscape design and integration into site water management plans.
Established in 1997, TEP has spent more than 28 years supporting sustainable development across the UK. Bringing together planners, designers and environmental specialists, we deliver intelligent, integrated solutions that balance environmental responsibility with project ambitions. Whether advising on a local development, a regeneration programme or nationally significant infrastructure, our purpose remains the same: to help create successful, sustainable places that deliver lasting value for communities while protecting and enhancing our natural and historic environment.
What sets TEP apart is our integrated, multidisciplinary approach. We bring together expertise across Arboriculture, Ecology, Environmental Planning, Landscape Design, Historic Environment and Archaeology, Geospatial Services, Land Management, and Green and Blue Infrastructure. By combining these disciplines within one organisation, we provide clients with a joined-up understanding of the opportunities, constraints and environmental considerations that influence development.
Our work spans a diverse range of sectors and clients, including private developers, local authorities, government agencies, infrastructure providers, utilities and charitable organisations. This breadth of experience gives us a strong understanding of the different challenges faced by organisations across the public and private sectors. From early feasibility studies and planning strategies through to detailed assessments, design development, environmental statements and long-term landscape management, we provide support throughout the entire project lifecycle.
With a team of more than 170 professionals working across five offices, TEP combines national reach with local knowledge. Our people are at the heart of our success, bringing together technical expertise, creativity and a genuine commitment to delivering positive outcomes. We are known for building strong and lasting relationships with clients, working collaboratively and openly to understand objectives, navigate challenges and develop solutions that add value.
