Free Roof Condition Survey
Garland UK’s free roof survey service provides building owners, specifiers and facilities managers with a detailed assessment of the existing roof structure prior to the installation of a Green Shield green roof system. Conducted by a dedicated Garland UK Technical Manager, the survey evaluates the condition, integrity and suitability of the roof to ensure it can support the long-term performance of the proposed green roof solution.
By identifying potential defects, drainage concerns and waterproofing requirements at an early stage, Garland UK helps to maximise the lifespan and value of the green roof investment. This rigorous assessment process ensures every Green Shield system is designed on a sound foundation, delivering reliable waterproofing performance, improved sustainability and long-term peace of mind.
Technical Roofing Support
Garland UK provides dedicated technical roofing support throughout every stage of a Green Shield green roof project, from initial design consultation through to installation and aftercare. Working closely with architects, surveyors, contractors and building owners, Garland UK Technical Managers deliver expert guidance on waterproofing compatibility, drainage design, thermal performance and build-up specification to ensure the green roof system performs effectively over the long term.

VEGETATION LAYER
The living elements of your roof are also covered by our market-leading, Single-Point Guarantee for the length of your maintenance contract with an approved contractor. Combined with this yearly
maintenance contract, the living elements of your green roof will be guaranteed in perpetuity.
SYSTEM COMPONENTS
The non-living components of our green roof systems are covered by a 6 year guarantee on both installation and product failure.
WATERPROOFING SYSTEM
The waterproofing layer of a Garland Green Roof is guaranteed for 25 years, protecting your building for the long term.

Green Shield systems support sustainable urban drainage by replicating natural landscapes and reducing rainwater runoff into drainage systems. Green Shield Storm Defence can retain up to 80 l/m² of rainwater, helping to ease pressure on urban infrastructure during heavy rainfall events.

Green Shield Sedum, is a standard build up for extensive green roofs with an attractive ‘back to nature appearance’. Benefitting from recycled elements, including the Floradrain FD 25-E® drainage and water storage element, Green Shield Sedum incorporates sustainable features that are also recyclable at the end of it’s natural life.

Green Shield Storm Defence
Storm Defence is a blue roof system that helps to address how the changes in climate and the expansion of urban areas can affect a building’s water management. Specifically designed for flood control, Green Shield Storm Defence retains up to 80 l/m² of rainwater on a roof, before slowly releasing over a 24 hour period.
