The Garden of the Future at the 2025 RHS Chelsea Flower Show spotlighted the people and partnerships behind some of the innovative solutions that are supporting communities everywhere to adapt and thrive in the face of climate change.

Designed by Butler & Parker and supported by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the garden was set in the near future in the UK, in a scenario where the climate continues to change. Countries all over the world, including the UK, are experiencing higher-than-average temperatures, more extreme weather, periods of drought and sudden, heavy rainfall. Designed to thrive in these conditions, the garden was bio-diverse and featured a wide array of climate-resilient ornamentals and crops, edible plants with multiple uses and properties, and tools that demonstrate how farmers, scientists, and communities are innovating to grow a healthier future both here in the UK and globally.

At the garden, visitors had the opportunity to understand the science and research behind these innovations, plus the challenges and solutions being developed by smallholder farmers themselves, as well as what countries like the UK can learn from countries living on the frontline of climate change.

By showcasing global innovators and their solutions, the Garden of the Future inspired visitors to believe in the power of innovation and collaboration to transform human potential around the world, as well as offering some take-home ideas for growing plants in a more sustainable, climate-resilient way.

The Garden was constructed by Acacia Gardens with the Semi-Intensive, biosolar roof materials donated and installed by GRO, Green Roof Organisation member businesses and organisations including Bridgman & Bridgman, PV Plus, TEP, Optigrun, Diadem, Green Tech, SIKA, Radmat and Wraxalls.
